What is CAS how does work where it be used

CAS - conditional access system, is a technology used to control digital television services to authorized users by encrypting the transmitted channels. It was comfortable with DVB digital video broadcasting.CAS provider provides the servers and software's to the broadcaster who integrated their CAS in to his STB's.

Basically CAS was established by ECMG and EMMG based. Entitlement control message generator and Entitlement management message generator.

When hardening a CAS fist we should establish EMMG from CAS to MUX(Mux stands for multiplexer which is used for digital video broadcasting, some advance MUX can able to scramble and perform modulate QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation). MUX IP(172.1.1.1), Port(1234), and scrambler bandwidth (500 kbps) these details required when establish CAS to EMMG connection.

Now our CA system ready to communicate our digital video broadcasting. we need to make value added package and entitlement in CAS so that we could control our subscribers entitlement.

ECMG used for scramble the channels, each channels have a unique ECMG pit which is passing over RF along with a EMMG. ECMG would create from scrambler side they using some xml tag for making them for each and every channels. the tag contains CAS ID, unique ECMG pit, service ID, Transport stream ID and broadcaster ID.

CA system most often used from DVB digital video broadcasting, unique channel distributors  and television channels
